What we do and don't do
Our 20 years of horse ownership at our farm has given us invaluable experience with managing horses in our particular environment. We're more than happy to explain the reasoning behind our methods, so if we haven't covered something you'd like to know, just ask.

If you decide our farm will be a suitable home for your horse or pony, please contact us for more details. If there's no room in the herd for your horse or pony, we will be happy to add you to our waiting list.
What we do require
Every horse must be easy to manage in all respects. We are unable to offer schooling or rehabilitation.

There is a minimum stay of 3 months for recuperative grazing.
Every new horse will be subject to a month-long trial period. We reserve the right to refuse a permanent position should we feel that the horse does not fit in to the existing herd for any reason including poor manners or vices.
Every new horse must test negative for strangles and/or any other communicable diseases deemed necessary by our vet before arrival.
Every new horse must be able to live at grass, full time. We are unable to accommodate horses with laminitis or skin conditions.
Every new horse must be fully vaccinated before arrival. Annual boosters are at the owner's discretion thereafter.
We ask that every horse has an annual health review, worm count, and dental check for their benefit and your peace of mind. We will arrange this with a local vet but it will be at the owner's cost
What we don't do.
We do not over graze our fields.
We do not rug horses unless they are unwell or have failed to grow a full winter coat. We do not use fly rugs.
We do not provide individual stabling for horses unless they are unwell and require isolation. We do not give supplementary hard feed unless horses are unwell and/or stabled individually. Additional forage is only provided during extreme weather.
We do not allow shod horses on the property.
The horses are not routinely wormed. Each horse will have a worm count taken in the spring and wormed only if absolutely necessary.
