Our Story

Brechfa Equine retirement is a husband and wife partnership run by Victoria and Nick. We have lived at our property for 20 years and in that time we have transformed it from a working sheep farm into a natural horsey paradise. We have planted miles of hedgerows and tens of thousands of trees over the years and the metamorphosis of the landscape from sterile monoculture to a wildlife haven has been extraordinary.

We lost the last of our fabulous horses in 2021 and we are now looking to add to our small herd of equine lodgers by offering retirement and recuperation grazing to a limited number of suitable horses or ponies.

We have owned horses for over 30 years. Victoria holds a BSc in Equine Science, has BHS I, II and III and Saddlery qualifications. She spent a year studying Natural Horsemanship in the US, where she worked with un-started youngsters and gained experience of moving large numbers of horses on horseback. This gave her valuable experience of natural horse behaviour and herd dynamics, which remain particular interests of hers.
